There's actually substantial information extant, but it's dispersed over more than a dozen books.Ī couple of years ago I thought it might be interesting and helpful to the community to pull that info together and organize it for easy consumption in a thread on the Champions discussion forums.

Hero Games did plan to publish one, but the severe downsizing the company went through several years ago curtailed that plan for the foreseeable future. In part this is due to there being no source book dedicated to that malevolent corporation. But from comments I've heard over the years, most Champions players who don't have those books don't fully appreciate what ARGENT is capable of, nor the range of uses it can be put to for villainous plots, as well as character origins and backstory. For anyone interested in participating in a Roll20- and Zoom-based episodic 4th edition game to raise money for charity-stay tuned! I hope to announce something here and on Roll20 in the near future.Ĥth edition GM at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor 1989-91, presently Bethesda, MDĪs I read over my Champions official setting source books (for the "Champions Universe"), I was struck by the range of activities the criminal high-tech corporation ARGENT is involved in around the world - how many pies it has its fingers in, and how viciously it digs into them. An additional benefit of Excel: insert your combatants in any order, use the Sort function based on the SPD value, and your combatants will sort themselves automatically into turn order.Ĭomments and corrections welcomed. You can copy-paste for more rows or delete rows as desired. Just insert your combatants in the appropriate rows, insert their SPD, and the chart will do the rest. I included other examples from sample characters in the BBB as well, but please note that ALL of the columns with segment values have the embedded formula based on the SPD column. For example, if Mindlock has a SPD of 5, the spreadsheet automatically populates action Phases for her in segments 3, 5, 8, and 10-12. The embedded formulae calculate and place Phases in the appropriate Segments of the Speed column based on the Speed Chart on p.139 of the Big Blue Book (BBB). I reopened my Champions folder from the '90's and was motivated to work on a throwback 4th edition game on Roll20 for a charity fundraiser to fight COVID-19. Just go to last page in this thread and it should be somewhere around there. Here is an Excel-based Combat Record Sheet for 4th edition-didn't see one currently in the downloads. So, the link above is no the most up to date file. I just figured I should note that idiedtrying has taken over this project and converted it over to openoffice. Let me know if you have any suggestion or found one of the many mistakes. Just a heads up, the layout on everything except maybe the augmentation and inventory tabs is horrible and I don't have a sheet that really compiles everything except maybe the Karma tab.Īny way, I figure I would post the current version of the project in case someone want to run with it or just use it. It is definitely not done but I think you can more or less go through the character creation process for anything except a technomancer and maybe riggers/hackers. On a whim, I started building a character builder in excel for 5th edition Shadowrun this week since I hate working with paper and pencil.
